Senior Citizens' Monthly Tea Dances

The Town Council introduced a series of regular monthly tea dances featuring sequence and ball room dances led by experts Arthur and Pat Matterson. Ticket price includes refreshments.

The tea dances are held at the Bell Close Sports Association Club House in Lake Street, Leighton Buzzard (close to the mini roundabout by Morrisons Supermarket) from 2 pm until 4.30 pm and tickets cost just £3.00 per person and are available on a first come, first served basis from the Leisure & Promotions Office, The White House, Hockliffe Street. Telephone 01525 631915/631916. Numbers permitting, tickets are also normally available on the door.


Music in the Park

There are free concerts in the park on many Sundays throughout the summer. These are arranged by Leighton-Linslade Town Council. The concerts feature top brass and silver bands from the surrounding counties.

Linslade Canal Festival  

The annual Linslade Canal Festival  took place on Saturday, 25th July 2009.

It was held in the Tiddenfoot Waterside Park off Mentmore Road. This is a lovely setting among the trees at the edge of the lake.

There were many attractions including, rural crafts, live music, narrow boats, conservation exhibits, demonstrations and more.

Living History Heritage Day 

The annual Living History Heritage Day takes place on Saturday 10th October 2009.

This is always an interesting day with various events taking place around the town. In the past these have included, classic car displays, live music, dance exhibitions, food & wine tasting, re-enactment societies and more.

The Community Information Centre at the White House in Hockliffe Street has a wealth of information and services for the Over 50's including -
Bus Passes
Over 55's Film Club membership
Tickets for  Senior Citizens Tea Dances
and much more including copies of the Senior Citizens Handbook (revised for 2006).

Over 55's Film Club  

If you are a resident of Leighton Buzzard or Linslade why not join the Over 55's Film Club. This is a great opportunity to see a film at a great price - all tickets are just £2.00. These can be purchased in advance from Leighton Buzzard Theatre box office. Membership forms are available from the Community Information Centre at the White House in Hockliffe Street.
