Magic Dave for Macmillan with the Leighton Buzzard Children's Theatre

Local favourite Magic Dave, the award winning children’s entertainer, will be returning to the Leighton Buzzard Theatre to provide an afternoon of magic and music ably supported by the talented Leighton Buzzard Children’s Theatre. This performance is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. All proceeds will go to support the work of the charity.

This promises to be a fabulous evening with the vocal and instrumental talents of Michelle Bull and Dave Kirkpatrick who cover a wide range of material, coupled with the versatility of Woburn Jazz who play a variety of Big Band, Jazz, Swing, Blues and Funk. Barnstormers Stand-up Comedy - Leighton Buzzard Theatre

Barnstormers Comedy is one of the leading promoters of stand-up comedy with 15 comedy clubs in theatres and arts centres across the Midlands and South. Each month their compere introduces three different top acts from the London circuit, usually Comedy Store regulars. Because of the bawdy nature of the shows they not may suitable for those of a sensitive nature. And over 18s only please unless accompanied by a responsible person.

Brewery Comedy

Leighton Buzzard Brewing Co. present Comedy at the Brewery. Four up and coming circuit comedians perform in the town’s very own brewery. Come along for great comics and superb beer. The brewery is on Harmill Industrial Estate on Grovebury Road.

If you like dancing, making friends, listening to music and a spot of tea then why come along to a Wednesday tea dance at Leighton Library Theatre. This is your opportunity to waltz, tango, cha cha cha and quickstep. You will be entertained with a wide range of music and will receive complimentary tea or coffee and biscuits which will be served throughout the dance. If you are a bit rusty or if you haven’t danced before, no need to worry as there will be a workshop so you can learn all of the right moves. Proms in the Park - Summer Band Concerts in Leighton Buzzard

Sundays from June to September

There are free concerts in the park held at the bandstand in Parson's Close Recreation Ground in the centre of Leighton Buzzard on many Sundays throughout the summer. They begin in June and continue throughout the summer until September. The concerts feature top brass and silver bands from the surrounding counties.

Big Lunch Food Festival - Leighton Buzzard High Street

Leighton Buzzard Big Lunch Food Festival is now in its fifth year and celebrates local food and produce and is associated with the Nationwide Big Lunch initiative. Celebrating all things food and drink, there will be a diverse selection of hot meals, cold snacks and related products.  With up to 50 stalls, cookery demonstrations and workshops, there will be plenty of opportunity to taste samples, sit down with family and friends to a hot meal, or gain some practical cooking tips.


Zoom - Leighton Buzzard Children’s Theatre

Based upon the story of The Tortoise and the Hare, Zoom is a sparkling musical comedy which retells the famous fable in an unusual way. Harvey Hare, wealthy business tycoon, is running for Mayor of Evergreen Valley, but his methods are rather underhand. When his small, shell-shuffling employee Toby Tortoise discovers the truth, he challenges Harvey and the stage is set for the race of all time. It's a race between fast and slow, big and small, right and wrong... but who will win in the end?

Leighton Buzzard Linslade Carnival

Saturday 8 July 2017

The procession of floats through the town will leave Cedars School in Mentmore Road at about 12 noon then follow the route: Mentmore Road, Wing Road, Leighton Road, West Street, Leston Road, Hockliffe Street, Hockliffe Road, Brooklands Drive, Brooklands Avenue, Stanbridge Road, Lake Street, Grove Road, Parsons Close Recreation Ground. After the procession, the carnival floats will assemble in Parsons Close Recreation Ground where there will be an arena for events plus fairground rides, trade stalls, community stalls, displays, food and much more.

This is a great family day, the kids can watch the float procession try the fairground rides meet friends and neighbours. This is also a great fundraising day helping support local charities.

Coming to the Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre in July 2017 is LBDG’s production of ’Steel Magnolias’. This well-known play, based on the film with Sally Fields and Julia Roberts, tells the story of a close-knit circle of friends whose lives come together in Truvie’s beauty parlour. Filled with humour and heartbreak, this production will make you laugh and cry as the realities of their lives in tiny parish of Louisiana unfolds.

Leighton Buzzard Linslade Canal Festival

The biggest event in the Leighton Buzzard calendar. Set along the canal and in the beautiful Tiddenfoot Waterside Park in Linslade this popular day out attracts thousands of visitors every year. Amble along the canal towpath and take a look at the many boats that arrive for the event. Keep a look out for boats selling traditional crafts, artwork, cheeses and of course the Sweet Boat. There will be a large selection of stalls selling all types of crafts from ceramics and jewellery to hand turned wood items. There will be demonstrations of traditional rural crafts and a selection of food and drink stalls. Live music and entertainers, food vendors, narrowboats and much more.

Retroplay - Movie, Gaming & Comic Festival, Leighton Buzzard

Sunday 10 September 2017 10am - 5pm

This spectacular Movie / TV, Gaming and Comic Book themed family fun day will immerse visitors in a world of silver screen fantasy. Interact with an incredible collection of iconic replica vehicles, from Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1, Back to the Future Delorean and Lightning McQueen. Meet and greet your favourite superheroes and legendary movie characters and even a T-Rex!

There will have a range of attractions for all the family, TV and film props as well as stalls selling all kinds of toys, collectibles, comics and more. There will be competitions, special guests and a Retro-Gaming area with a range of retro consoles and games. This fantastic event will be raising funds for local charity, Autism Bedfordshire.

This is a great opportunity to see a film at a great price - all tickets are just £2.60 which includes refreshments. These can be purchased in advance from Leighton Buzzard Theatre box office.
