The canal festival is one of the largest and most popular events in the Leighton Linslade calendar. Last year over 9,000 people came along to enjoy food, live music, entertanment and traditional crafts in the bautiful setting around the lake at Tiddenfoot Waterside Park. Tiddenfoot is a great location for the festival, the park runs alongside the canal so you can walk between the boats and the craft stalls. The stalls are spread throughout the trees at the edge of the lake in the centre of the park. There is a bridge from the park over the canal to the towpath. The field at the top of the park on Mentmore Road side, opposite to the canal has children’s rides, live entertainment, exhibitions and stalls. Tiddenfoot Waterside Park is a beautiful place for a stroll around the lake at any time but it really comes to life during the festival
Amble along the canal towpath and take a look at the many boats that arrive for the event. Keep a look out for boats selling traditional crafts, artwork, cheeses and of course the Sweet Boat.
