Proms in the Park - Summer Band Concerts in Leighton Buzzard

Sundays from June to September

There are free concerts in the park held at the bandstand in Parson's Close Recreation Ground in the centre of Leighton Buzzard on many Sundays throughout the summer. They begin in June and continue throughout the summer until September. The concerts feature top brass and silver bands from the surrounding counties.

Leighton Tea Dances

If you like dancing, making friends, listening to music and a spot of tea then why come along to a Wednesday tea dance at Leighton Library Theatre. This is your opportunity to waltz, tango, cha cha cha and quickstep. You will be entertained with a wide range of music and will receive complimentary tea or coffee and biscuits which will be served throughout the dance. If you are a bit rusty or if you haven’t danced before, no need to worry as there will be a workshop so you can learn all of the right moves. Leighton Buzzard Linslade Canal Festival

Saturday 29 July 2017 11am-5pm

The biggest event in the Leighton Buzzard calendar. Set along the canal and in the beautiful Tiddenfoot Waterside Park in Linslade this popular day out attracts thousands of visitors every year. Amble along the canal towpath and take a look at the many boats that arrive for the event. Keep a look out for boats selling traditional crafts, artwork, cheeses and of course the Sweet Boat. There will be a large selection of stalls selling all types of crafts from ceramics and jewellery to hand turned wood items. There will be demonstrations of traditional rural crafts and a selection of food and drink stalls. Live music and entertainers, food vendors, narrowboats and much more.

Concert in the Park 2017

Saturday 12 August 2017 5.00pm

Come along to The Meadow at Rushmere Country Park for a relaxed evening of local music talent. This is a family-friendly event with food stalls and beer tent and fairground amusement for the kids. This year's acts: Toby Joe Leonard, Rocker Covers, Secret Genius, Natasha Seale, plus sessions by DJ Mike Deakin.

Please bring your own blankets, chairs and a torch. Don't forget to wear appropriate footwear as the ground is uneven and you'll be going back to your car in the dark.

Summer Fayre and Fun Dog Show - Rushmere Country Park

Sunday 13 August 11am - 4pm

Come and join in the fun and games with the annual Summer Fayre and Fun Dog Show - free admission with arts, crafts, refreshments and a whole host of fun activities for all the family out on The Meadow in the beautiful Rushmere Country Park. No booking required - just turn up. £3 exit fee for the car park will apply. Separate charges may apply for kids amusements and trails. All proceeds will be reinvested into the park. This year the oranisers are hoping to speed up the registration process for the Fun Dog Show by selling tickets for each class available on the day - 40 per class.

Retroplay - Movie, Gaming & Comic Festival, Leighton Buzzard

Sunday 10 September 2017 10am - 5pm

This spectacular Movie / TV, Gaming and Comic Book themed family fun day will immerse visitors in a world of silver screen fantasy. Interact with an incredible collection of iconic replica vehicles, from Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1, Back to the Future Delorean and Lightning McQueen. Meet and greet your favourite superheroes and legendary movie characters and even a T-Rex!

There will have a range of attractions for all the family, TV and film props as well as stalls selling all kinds of toys, collectibles, comics and more. There will be competitions, special guests and a Retro-Gaming area with a range of retro consoles and games. This fantastic event will be raising funds for local charity, Autism Bedfordshire.

Sand & Motorcycles Day

The Leighton Buzzard Railways' annual bike show 'Sand & Motorcycles' will be held in Pages Park Leighton Buzzard on Sunday 28th September 2012. Fascinating range of motorcycles, vintage and contempory will be on display, the criteria is "anything that can be legally ridden with a motorcycle licence" so be ready for anything. There will also be trade and club stands and live music.

Charity Race Night - Astral Park

Movies for the More Mature (MMM)

If you are a resident of Leighton Buzzard or Linslade why not join the Leighton Buzzard Over 55's Film Club. This is a great opportunity to see a film at a great price - all tickets are just £2.60 which includes refreshments. These can be purchased in advance from Leighton Buzzard Theatre box office. Membership forms are available from the Town Council at the White House in Hockliffe Street or call the Events Team on 01525 631920. Please bring some ID with you when joining. Films are shown at the Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre on Wednesday afternoons.
